Scariest filming trip:

Driving through the desert in East Asia—our taxi driver was speeding and swerving from side to side. On this four hour trek we had two flats, lost the muffler and were almost hit head-on numerous times. The driver often played chicken with the big trucks coming toward us.

Dumbest moment:

Once upon a time, I interviewed a chimpanzee—no joke. He grabbed the mic, shoved it in his mouth and started sucking on it. Monkey spit ruined the mic.

Favorite village food:

#1 Spiced grilled water buffalo brains.
#2 Anything with African peanut sauce.
#3 Mole, a spicy Mexican chocolate sauce over whatever.
#4 Juicy pork fat—well, maybe not.
